First Broken Bone

It is a little bit amazing to me that we have gone this long without a broken bone. We usually do stitches, hospitalization and surgeries around here but not broken bones. Clark broke that trend last night playing on the swingset. I was inside, working on dinner and after school snack. As soon as he came in and sat on my lap and wouldn't move his hand I had a good idea what was going on. It's a minor break, not even all the way through the bone. It's going to heal just fine and he is one tough boy. Wearing a cast for three weeks is not going to be fun. He just has a splint right now until the swelling goes down and he already wants me to take it off. I tried to explain to him how long it will be on there. The cast comes next week, after the swelling has gone down. Poor buddy. Sailing on, E

Piano - Update

I am so happy that I painted my piano. I have been talking about doing it for a while now. I love how it turned out! It used to look like this. (I have been exeperimenting with a few colors of paint!) Now it looks like this! painting makes me happy.... what makes you happy? To answer some questions about this piano I will write a new post with instructions and an update now that it has been this way for several years!

Can't let go

I realize that nobody really blogs any longer, much less reads blogs. I just went through this blog looking for a photo that I have lost on my computer and realized what goodness is here for my family. So I will write again. Life is an amazing journey. I'm learning so much and so slowly it seems. I can see so many of the same lessons cycling through and I wonder why I am so hard headed and do not pick them up on round one. The kids are growing up so fast. I CANNOT believe I have an 18 year old finished with high school. Unreal. We have also grown and added to our numbers. What a joy Ruby is to our family and life. I hope you have things you love so much you can't let go too. Writing, photos, and family are that for me. Carry on. E
