Lifting up

I think we all have times in our life when we need to be lifted up.  I know we all have times when we can do the lifting up for others.  I am weary.  Life seems to hold too many hurts and disappointments.  I know deep in my heart that ultimatly Jesus can take me by the hand and lift me up, and I will arise.  (Mark 9:27). But is it ok if I just cry some more and be sad for a while?   If you ask me not to or expect me to always have a smile on my face you will be gravely disappointed in me.  And such is life.

Sailing on, although somewhat reluctantly.

  1. I'm trying to get that idea through to my heart broken teenage daughter's head (Mark 9:27). Her comment for the day: Fake Smile? Check. We too are sailing with you ... through rocky waters the past week and a half. I tell her that it does get better as time will allow the pain to lessen if we allow the Savior to help. There must be opposition or we wouldn't experience true joy. Here's to looking forward to a new day. A fresh start. My hugs going your way to lift you up!

  3. It would be so nice if the road to happiness (which is also the road to Christ) was paved and allowed for easy traveling. I'm learning that it's really a road that is broken in places, with mountains to climb, heartbreaks to heal and surprise twists and turns. I think that sometimes we all need to stop and cry. I'll be praying that the sun will shine again soon.
