Lifting up

I think we all have times in our life when we need to be lifted up.  I know we all have times when we can do the lifting up for others.  I am weary.  Life seems to hold too many hurts and disappointments.  I know deep in my heart that ultimatly Jesus can take me by the hand and lift me up, and I will arise.  (Mark 9:27). But is it ok if I just cry some more and be sad for a while?   If you ask me not to or expect me to always have a smile on my face you will be gravely disappointed in me.  And such is life.

Sailing on, although somewhat reluctantly.

Good times.

I am a very traditional photographer.  I NEVER edit my images.  It takes too much time, its not fun and then I feel like my photos are 'fake'.  Until today.  I downloaded a few actions for photoshop from Pioneer Woman and they are awesome.
I have had some good times with them.

Still, I think it's cheating, don't you?

Oh and by the way... its SNOwiNG AGaIN!

Snow White on the move

When it was time to get everyone dressed up to attend a wedding reception and Emma showed up "ready to go Mom" downstairs as snow white I said to myself, well, it IS a dress!

Even as snow white, Emma doesn't slow down.  Ever.  For anything really.  I take that back - she slows for chocolate, strawberries, and gum.

Lamp Love

I found this lamp at goodwill.  It was $5.99  I really like the shape and the wood.  I am pleased with how it turned out after painting it and splurging on the liberty of london lamp shade from target!

A Nephite Warrior and a Limo Ride

Children make life so much more fun at our house.

For example, a 5 year old boy can be changed into a nephite warrior with just a few dabs of paint.  And a Nephite warrior can have the time of his life riding in a bright pink limo.

A friend of ours has this birthday party business where they pick the girls up in the limo and take them to the salon for the party.  He had a little extra time with the limo last night so he treated us to a ride through the Krispy Kreme drive-thru.  It was SO fun!

Saving Lives

Clark had a fantastic new experience this weekend.  His handsome older brother introduced him to rolly polly bugs.

He was taken - it was love at first sight.  He sat and laughed and poked and looked and laughed more.

When it came time to leave (we were waiting for older sister at volleyball practice) older brother said we couldn't go quite yet,

"Mom, this is important.  I'm saving lives.  If I don't move these rolly pollys to a new home these ants will eat them all."  We waited and were glad to save some lives.

How many...?

near- emergency room visits does it take for Cluckie before the boy can catch a break?

this week:  4 so far.

Also, did you know that mini loaf pans make awesome animal transporters when you are moving new animals into the zoo?  They do, really.

Does your house ever look like this?

And even though you know if you really buckled down for a few hours you could whip it into shape it seems unsurmountable and you want to hide for a while?

I'm off to find a helmet for C man.
