Sickness sickness go away

Well we are still fighting off sickness at our house.  I really really don't like it when my kids are sick.  Its sad for them, its exhausting for me, and it always lasts too long!
And then top it off my mom fell and broke her elbow (really badly) yesterday!  Some people get all the (bad) luck!
Ah, but still there are things to make us laugh.  Like Emma running around us in circles during family prayer singing ring around the rosies!  Christian insisting that boys and girls talk differently so that means he is allowed to not pronounce words properly and when I correct him he tells me that he can say it that way "because he is a boy."  Madeline and Savanna are currently thrilled to be learning square dancing in music class, along with learning to sing "She'll be coming round the mountain" and "On top of Spaghetti".  Its quite funny.  Emma is in love with her ponyville ponies and this morning when I heard her usual "hey Mooooooom"call (6:09 am) and asked if she wanted breakfast she said "No, I need to play ponies!"   Clark - well he is cuter than ever but not gaining weight so I guess I better stop saying how much I love it when they are small and wishing they stayed little longer!

of course I have realized what a joke my goal of doing a scrapbook page every day really is for me during this season of life, yet I have completed MANY in that effort and so far for January I am pleased with my results (wish I could say the same for my weight loss goals!)

I tried to get some family photos last weekend - yea well next time (if there is a next time) I need to have someone come help me take them because if you are wondering how many children can escape from a photo during a 12 second timer the answer is 4 out of 5!!! And that is why not one photo has all 7 of us really smiling and why Emma is being restrained against her will - so I can document the fact that we have at least a few photos of all 7 of us together.

This day we sailed on!

Emma Wins!

Well yea that pretty much describes my day at church on sunday.  After screaming and kicking and all of that joyous expression I took Emma out in the hall (Kurt was sitting on the stand so the kids knew they had me all alone) where she wriggled out of my arms, sprinted down the hall, ran into a corner and turned to look at me and shouted "I WON!".  Yes, she did.  I arrived back in the meeting to find one child on the floor UNDER the bench, one coloring and another ended up sitting with another family 3 rows up by climbing under benches.  THEY WIN!  I lose!
Why is life so hard sometimes???

I have some catching up to do with pages here so I will post 6 of them tonight and more to come!

Another week begins...

And today was not the snuggly restful day I had hoped for. Isn't that the way life goes? I did, however, get a page done today and get in some good reading time with each of the kids. Tomorrow is our last day off of school for the break and we are hoping to do some sledding and playing with friends.
These silly photos were taken in 2002. While home for a visit, my mom revealed the much treasured "costume box" we had when we were young. For Halloween, dress up, disco day, or any other silly occasion we would find great outfits in this box. So we were each able to choose some of the dress ups to take to our respective houses and pass down to our children! It was a great walk down memory lane as we pulled the items out. And naturally we could not complete the task without trying some of the best items on (Brent in the silver sparkle stretch pants and matching head band is my favorite) ! Good memories. That was nearly 7 years ago and just now I have finally documented it!

It's FINALLY snowing in Colorado!

YEA!  I am so happy it is snowing.  I have missed the snow this winter.  Tomorrow will be a wonderful day snuggled up in pajamas and reading books by the fireplace after we get home from church.  What more can I ask for?

Tonight at dinner Christian was asking if we could have dessert and I said I don't think so and he said "If you change your mind to yes then can we?"  He always makes me smile!

today's page is 100% digital, created on memory mixer, one of my new favorite things.   I love how quickly I can get a page finished and still use many different elements and express my style in so many different ways.  If you have not heard of Memory Mixer you should check it out:
www.  I am a fan!!!

Happy snowy night!

A full day...

Which started with 7:45 am appointments at the dentist office (for the kids). It was all going great until Emma (good thing she is So cute) found a pen on the floor behind a chair (I think) and colored on the wall and a chair before I got to her. This office is BRAND NEW and very posh I might add. So new that they are the first to occupy the entire floor and the furniture and green painted walls were are very new looking until Emma decorated them with black pen. Ack. I guess I need to start carrying Mr. Clean magic erasers with me everywhere I go now. Anyway, Madeline and Savanna both have 2 cavities (which is to be expected as I have the worst teeth and they are my daughters)! And yet there is a silver lining: dental insurance covered everything 100 percent! beautiful. Oh and Madeline, Savanna, and Christian have new 'animal' toothbrushes.

Because all 3 did so well for the dentist AND have been keeping their bedrooms clean all week they each had a friend over for the afternoon which was WONDERFUL, meaning zero altercations, zero injuries, and everyone went home happy. What more can I ask for?

Quote for the day from Emma
"Ah sweet baby" which is made all the more hilarious knowing that she is a petite 20 lb. not yet 2 silly girl who said this upon seeing a toy keyboard within reach at target. SO funny.

And my page for the day:

so we decorated the new dentist office.. . .
and we sailed on!

A page a day plan

So for the new year I want to do one scrapbook page each day.  I feel like I really can accomplish this since I am doing a lot digital these days.  So I will continue to work with paper as well and mix it with digital, and try to create something each day.  I want to do it because it is a great form of expression for me, not so much because I feel like I "have to" get my books done.  So for today I post this page of my kids at the beach this summer.
So Much Love
Emma was so funny she threw her arms wide like this the entire trip.  In every photo she was dong her own thing, it reminded me of the old days on sesame street "which one of these kids is doing her own thing, doing her own thing?"
She is so cute!
